The Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology has been working since the foundation of the Hospital providing medical and surgical treatments to patients with spinal cord injury. Most of our activity corresponds to the Spine Surgery in both spinal cord injury patients and those with degenerative problems and/or different types of deformities. Our main research lines are related to the study of surgical results obtained in patients undergoing spinal surgery and the utility of intravenous infusion of adult stem cells in spinal cord injury.
